The results were expected this weekend. Autopsies and DNA tests have confirmed the identity of four of the five young people, who died in a terrible road accident, around 4 a.m., Sunday November 17, 2024, in Tarn. The families, who had little doubt for several days already, will now be able to organize funerals.

Their first names had been revealed through publications on social networks and the putting online of prize pools to help families. This Friday, November 22, 2024, all the victims of the accident, described as incredibly violent, were therefore formally identified by the investigators, the prosecutor confirms.

The five victims of the terrible accident have now been formally identified. The young men died on Sunday November 17, 2024, on the RD 988 at the entrance to Gaillac in the Tarn.

They are five young men, aged 16 to 20. Three of the victims are minors. They had spent the evening of Saturday to Sunday, November 17 together before their car crashed into a plane tree on the RD988.

Three of the victims lived in Gaillac. Another boy was from Brens. The fourth had arrived from a few days earlier. Their bodies were returned to the families who will be able to carry out the funeral.

Investigations are continuing to try to determine the causes of the accident, indicates Stéphanie Bazart, from the Albi public prosecutor's office. Investigators are awaiting information regarding toxicology or the speed at which the vehicle was traveling when it left the road.

Lorenzo, 19, was a former player for Albi football club. “He leaves behind the memory of a generous, devoted and promising young man.“, indicated US Albi in a publication on its Facebook account, 48 hours after the accident.

A minute of silence will be observed during our next match in his memory“, announced the Albigensian football club.

The mayor of Gaillac, Martine Souquet also informed our colleagues at France Bleu of her desire to pay tribute to the young victims during the next week. There is also question of a minute of silence observed in front of the town hall.
