The auctions are raging!
A true treasure of South-West viticulture, Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh is produced from a minimum grape variety of 60 to 80% Petit or Gros Manseng and Petit Courbu. It can also be blended with a grape variety like Arrufiac.
Monday November 18, 2024, the auction of 15 pre-selected barrels takes place at the Château de Crouseilles, including 4 dry Pacherenc. This event is organized by Producers Plaimont et the Crouseilles Cave.
Each of them is the fruit of the work and passion of a winegrower.
The palmarès

This year, the first prize at auction was obtained by the barrel of Olivier Dabadie and Sébastien Faure (regulars of the first places) with 5,400 euros. The wine from this barrel has the following characteristics:

to come from carefully selected plots in the town of Viella and worked in organic viticulture,

to be co-presented by Olivier Dabadie, president of Plaimont producers.
The second prize goes to Véronique and Didier Terrade, already winners in 2019. Their barrel was sold for 5,100 euros. And this wine, coming 100% from Petit Manseng, comes from the clayey soils of Maumusson-Laguian.
As for the third prize, this is a first in the auction of Pacherenc d’or, because the wine from this barrel by Sylvain Lesbats and Charles Malabirade, sold for 5,000 euros, is un Pacherenc sec.
As usual, the amount collected for the barrel of gold is donated to a work promoting the heritage of the Vic-Bilh region. “The projects submitted must relate to the renovation, rehabilitation or development of sites located in the wine-growing communities of the Pacherenc appellation.”
