Murder of municipal agent Lilian Dejean in : arrested in Portugal, the suspect agrees to be extradited to

He was arrested on Thursday in Póvoa de Lanhoso, a municipality located 70 km north of Porto (Portugal).

The Portuguese police indicated this Friday, November 22 evening that the alleged murderer of Lilian Dejean was heard in the afternoon by a court in Porto (Portugal), and did not oppose his extradition to .

The 24-year-old suspect “was presented to a judge at the Porto court and agreed to be extradited”, a spokeswoman for the judicial police told AFP, specifying that his transfer will be carried out “in coordination with the French authorities” who had issued a European arrest warrant.

Earlier in the day, public prosecutor Eric Vaillant affirmed during a press conference that the man suspected of being behind the death of Lilian Dejean, shot dead in Grenoble on 8 September 2024, was arrested in Portugal on Thursday November 21.

Responding to the name of Abdul Diallo, he has 19 convictions on his criminal record, notably for acts of violence and drug trafficking.

His identity card was found in the vehicle that he himself crashed before fatally shooting Lilian Dejean in the chest, a 49-year-old father and municipal agent in Grenoble, while the latter tried to prevent him from fleeing.
