He penetrated her with his fingers and, as she struggled, punched her several times and attempted to strangle her. Ten days of total incapacity for work (ITT) were prescribed to him.

“Unbelievable violence”

“The qualification of attempted murder was really debatable legally,” regrets Me Nathalie Landon, who pleaded for the victim. But the jury retained the second crime for which the accused was answerable, namely rape. And the maximum sentence, requested by the public prosecutor, was applied: thirty years of imprisonment.

At this announcement, Virginie relaxed. She was almost on the verge of discomfort: “I don't really realize it… But I'm relieved,” confided this 38-year-old mother, who left the department because the crime had disrupted her daily life.

Marie-Dominique Boulard-Paolini, the president of the court, justified the sentence: “The court noted the extreme seriousness of the facts, of incredible violence, and of a dangerous and worrying personality. » Mr. Sobriel, a 34-year-old from described as dyssocial and asocial, had already been convicted: for kidnapping and kidnapping, but also for drug trafficking. He was in a relationship at the time of the events and had consumed a cocktail of cannabis and alcohol that evening.

The convicted person has ten days to appeal.
