The death of Gaëtan Ronzi greatly moved residents of rue de Sauvin in Ambarès-et-Lagrave at the end of last September. This entrepreneur, who retired in 1996 and was preparing to celebrate his 88th birthday, was attacked at his home by three individuals during the evening of September 20. Hit in the face and body, he was shot in the head with a small caliber bullet from a rifle.
It was neighbors, worried about not seeing him for several days, who raised the alarm. Firefighters made the macabre discovery. Inside the house, a safe was found shattered.
Two months later, following careful investigations by gendarmes from the Bordeaux Research Section (SR) and the Bordeaux-Bouliac company, three suspects were arrested on Monday, November 18 as part of a judicial investigation opened by the prosecution for murder.
Two individuals imprisoned
Placed in police custody for a period of ninety-six hours, they were presented, this Thursday, November 21, to the investigating judge in charge of the case and indicted for intentional homicide, extortion, gang theft organized, participation in a criminal association with a view to preparing a crime and extortion with acts of torture and barbarity.
A 38-year-old man and a 17-year-old minor were placed under arrest warrant and incarcerated at the Gradignan penitentiary center. A 22-year-old young man, whose degree of involvement is less, was placed under judicial supervision. They all live in the Bec d’Ambès area.
The gendarmes' investigation unit traced their journey thanks in particular to the work of an expert in morphoanalysis of blood traces. Based on the reports of criminal identification technicians from the Gironde gendarmerie group, the expert was able to establish the chronology of events. The noose then tightened on the suspects.
The investigators, with the support of the Observation and Surveillance Group (GOS), “tailed” them until their arrest. The latter are already known to the courts for acts of burglary and possession of narcotics. They are now liable to thirty years of criminal imprisonment before the Assize Court.
