The war of words. Russia on Thursday (November 21) used an intermediate-range ballistic missile designed to deliver a nuclear warhead in Dnipro in east-central Ukraine. A “appropriate response” according to the Kremlin, after the use of American and British missiles during two Ukrainian bombings on Russian soil.

The Russian ambassador in London, Andreï Kelin, also affirms that the United Kingdom is now “directly involved“in the war between Russia and Ukraine, after the use of Storm Shadow missiles by kyiv to target Russian territory, unconfirmed at this stage on the British side.”Absolutely, the United Kingdom is now directly involved in this war, because such a strike cannot take place without (the use of) NATO troops, British troops“, the ambassador said in an interview with Sky News.

According to Andrei Kelin, the weapons supplied by the British government were not intended to be used “only on Ukrainian soil”who believes to have been “deceived“.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer did not react directly. He let a spokesperson from 10 Downing Street issue a quick statement to the media, with this message: The British government will not be deterred or distracted by comments from Vladimir Putin or the Russian ambassador.

Earlier today, Keir Starmer had already said much the same thing, adding, even before his threatening remarks, that Vladimir Putin is a man “who wants destruction, not peace.

The United Kingdom is one of the main providers of military aid to Ukraine, whether for the supply of weapons or the training of Ukrainian soldiers on British territory. On the other hand, London has always said it has no intention of sending British troops to Ukrainian soil.
