Thirty years already that Nagui has been making music resonate on France 2 thanks to his Taratata . A live broadcast which brought together the greatest French and international artists on stage. In 2023, the show celebrated its anniversary with great fanfare during an event concert bringing together 80 artists including Zazie, Eddy Mitchell, Gaëtan Roussel and Ed Sheeran. A few weeks ago, Taratata also celebrated the 40th anniversary of Bercy during a special concert.
Now essential, the show has nevertheless had its ups and downs. Canceled for a while, then rescheduled on an event basis then again on a regular basis, the show owes its longevity to Nagui, but not only… “When Delphine Ernotte was elected president of France Télévisions, she knew that I was about to leave because things were going badly at France Télévisions, which had stopped Taratata, the host confided to us during an interview about the return d’Intervilles . She offered to re-sign a contract with her and assured me that she would relaunch the show with prime time. I replied that I rather wanted to restart quietly with a program at 10:30 p.m., without pretension. She then told me that she wanted to keep me, but that at some point, I also had to do what she wanted (laughs)! But I will not forget that she kept her word. »

A collector's book for a good cause
During the show's anniversary concert, filmed in front of 40,000 people in 2023, Nagui called on photographer Gaëlle Ghesquière to take some photos. Stunned by the artist's work, the 63-year-old animator accepted his proposal to make a book about it, which he had always refused until then. “Maybe it's a teacher's son complex. I don't feel up to writing a book! Gaëlle then suggested that I make what we call a “beautiful book” instead. »
This collector's book (1), available since Thursday, November 21, contains the most beautiful photos from the 30th anniversary concert. To accompany the photos, Nagui embellished all the little words left by the artists in his guest book of the show, which he has kept since the 80s. The presenter also signs the foreword of the book and recounts on the margins of the pages the birth of Taratataits cessation or even some significant events that occurred during the show. As usual, Nagui also decides to donate the profits from the book to the Foundation for Medical Research, for cancer research. A foundation of which he is the godfather and to which he was able to pay 1.5 million euros during the 30th anniversary concert, and 800,000 euros during the 40th anniversary of Bercy. “When we raise funds for them via Taratatathey can work seven more years. I only have a small role in the story but I am happy to help play the link between the donor spectators and the researchers who will become finders. »
