A couple was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention on November 21, 2024 for a double murder committed in Douarnenez, indicates a press release from the Brest public prosecutor, Camille Miansoni. The suspects, a woman and a 26-year-old man, were arrested in Perpignan on November 18, nine days after the events.
The case dates back to November 9, 2024, around 6:20 a.m., when the Douarnenez gendarmes discovered an apartment on fire at 13 cite de Kermabon, rue Pen Ar Vir in Tréboul. At the base of the two-story building, they found an injured man, shirtless and barefoot, wearing bloody jeans. Despite the efforts of emergency services, this 44-year-old man died on the spot.
Inside the burned apartment, the police discovered the body of a second man, aged 61, tenant of the premises. The latter is a beneficiary of the Disabled Adult Allowance, placed under guardianship. “He was confined to a medical bed and could only move with difficulty.” specifies the press release.
Autopsies revealed that both victims died from numerous stab wounds.
The investigation, initially carried out by the Quimper public prosecutor's office, was taken over by that of Brest due to the criminal nature of the facts. The two suspects, already known to the courts for acts of violence, were indicted on several charges, including murder of a vulnerable person, murder, alteration of the inventory of a crime and damage to property. of others by dangerous means.
The woman is being prosecuted as a repeat offender on all charges, having already been convicted of similar offenses. The two indicted face life imprisonment. They were placed in pre-trial detention and incarcerated by the judge of freedoms and detention.
