we may know when Samsung will deploy the update on Galaxy smartphones

Samsung is getting ready to roll out its next major update, One UI 7.0, and a new leak has just revealed the detailed timeline for its rollout. This information long awaited by Samsung users perhaps finally clarifies the Korean giant's plans for 2024.

According to sources at @FamilyTaes on X, who seem well informed, the One UI 7.0 public beta program would begin in the first week of December with the Galaxy S24 series. The deployment would initially be limited to certain regions, before gradually expanding. The Galaxy S23 series would join the program two to three weeks latermarking the second phase of the deployment.

The beta program is expected to last approximately two months, with a stable release planned for February 2024. Important point to note: while the Galaxy S22 series remains up in the air regarding its access to the beta, it is already confirmed that the Galaxy S21 will not be eligible.

Samsung will update several dozen smartphones

An impressive list of compatible devices has also been revealed, including not only recent flagship smartphones, but also many A-series models and Galaxy Tab tablets. The update will also affect many devices in the foldable range, from the Z Flip3 to the recent Z Fold6.

The next Galaxy S25, whose presentation is expected on January 22, should come directly with One UI 7.0. This information suggests that Samsung is accelerating its development cycle to keep its update promises.

Among the eligible devices, we find in particular the entire recent A series (from the A14 to the A73), all of the Galaxy S since the S21 series, and a wide range of tablets including the Tab S8, S9 and their different variations. As always, one of Samsung's strong points is its long software support, which allows you to keep your Galaxy smartphone for many years. We already know that mid-range models will benefit from a follow-up of no less than 6 years.

It should be noted, however, that this schedule remains subject to change, as Samsung is accustomed to adjusting its plans based on user feedback and possible technical problems encountered during the testing phase.
