Lawyer Guy Dedieu defends the main suspect, François Perez who is accused of the murder of his friend, Fadila, in Ariège. Interview.
You defend the interests of François Perez, indicted for murder in the disappearance of Fadila Bouafia, in Ariège. What state of mind is he in?
He proclaims his innocence, firmly and unambiguously. He repeats that he has nothing to do with the disappearance of his friend whom he has known for two years. He points out that he has no dispute with this woman. Their ties are purely friendly. He is a man who understands the stakes of this procedure. And he is not at all out of step with the situation he understands. Like this woman's relatives, he hopes that we can find her and demonstrate that he had nothing to do with it.

What were the links between your client and Fadila?
They saw each other from time to time around Massat. When this woman came to the area to see her friends, she also saw my client for walks in the woods, motorcycle rides. When they spoke, there could be outbursts between them. He can be described as a friendly person by some, others say he can have outbursts of anger.
He says he doesn't remember this argument?
He does not remember an argument with his friend when we talk to him about this conversation. Today, he knows that he cannot access his accommodation, in Biert, in Ariège, due to ongoing investigations. We will work on a release request filed soon. He has lived in this place, a little remote, for around ten years and does small local jobs, on request, in masonry, electricity or pruning. In the past, he had carried out missions in external operations as a soldier, such as in Kosovo. He has always managed on his own and above all does not want to be a burden on others in the steps he takes.
