This project, still mysterious, will mark Pattinson’s second collaboration with Nolan. He previously starred in Nolan’s 2020 film, Tenetplaying Neil alongside John David Washington’s Protagonist. Universal has set a mid-July release date for Nolan’s latest film, positioning it as one of the studio’s major pillars for this summer.

It is well known that Robert Pattinson is supposed to play a lead role in another highly anticipated 2026 film: The Batman 2directed by Matt Reeves. However, the The Hollywood Reporter noted in his report on Pattinson’s role in Nolan’s new film that “nothing is close to being planned” regarding the production schedule for The Batman 2. Which could imply a delay in the start of production of this second part.

Indeed, Pattinson’s participation in a new Nolan project could pose a problem for The Batman 2. It is unlikely that the actor would have agreed to star in Nolan’s project unless he had free time during the “first half of 2025”, the period targeted by the director to begin filming. Nolan’s productions generally span several months, as was the case for Tenet (from May to November 2019) and Oppenheimer (from February to May 2022).
