Helicopters working to extinguish the wildfire near Hay River on May 25, 2023. The type of aircraft that crashed near Fort Good Hope is not known at this time.

A helicopter crash occurred near Fort Good Hope on Friday afternoon, according to a press release from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the Northwest Territories.
According to GRCthe accident is said to have occurred around 2 p.m.
The GRC announced that he was on his way to Fort Good Hope to analyze the scene and respond to the incident.
The Transportation Safety Board is responsible for the investigation, the press release continues. GRC.
No further information is available at this time, including whether there were any casualties in the crash and whether the crew was part of wildland fire crews that have been battling a wildfire near Fort Good Hope for nearly two weeks.
