“Free vandalism” in Thèze, the weekend rugby match postponed

The Thèze rugby club is…

The Thèze rugby club finds itself plunged into darkness, after cables were cut at its stadium: “Tuesday evening, the juniors who came to train were unable to turn on the lighting. The power supply to our kitchen is also out of service, there is only light left in the changing rooms,” breathes president of the Avant-Garde de Thèze, Jean-Charles Dupin. This weekend, the club should have hosted neighbors Béarn, in the Regional 3 championship.

But faced with the impossibility of training without lighting, of preparing a meal for the supporters, and because the Thèze town hall issued an order to prohibit access to the stadium made dangerous by the electric wires, the match was postponed.

The match postponed for a week

The AG Thèze – Nord Béarn confrontation will take place on Sunday December 1, with a supporters' meal, as planned for this weekend. By then, insurance should be passed, as well as repair organizations.

A complaint was filed with the police on Wednesday. “The police and the electrician were able to see that this was an act of gratuitous vandalism, because no material was stolen: neither wires nor cables…” relates Jean-Charles Dupin.

Already two years ago, according to our information, the electrical box of a large, recently installed projector had been damaged. “It cannot be ruled out that the light from the sports plain is disturbing…” asks the club president.
