Sunday, at 3 p.m., Florian Le Breton will put on Manuel Neuer's gloves, Lucas Madoulet will sneak in like Jamal Musiala and the Louis-Gervais stadium will scream Gilles Lamy's name like the Allianz Arena that of Harry Kane. The reason? Commenting on Bayern Munich – Augsburg, Friday evening, the beIN Sports star commentator duo Jean-Charles Sabattier – Patrick Guillou will take their place, less than two days later, in the Ruffiac-Malestroit stand, to comment on the championship match against Bruz, in Regional 2, Sunday (3 p.m.).
“We were supposed to comment on Dortmund (against Fribourg, Saturday) at the start, we finally ended up with an R2 match. It's a pleasant surprise, we will try to be as professional as in Bundesliga matches, on unconquered ground. It’s a real challenge to take on,” notes former Stade Rennais goalkeeper, Patrick Guillou.
More pressure than a Klassiker?
The French voices of the German championship are traveling to Ruffiac (56) as part of the “beIN Squad” project, for which the television channel follows 50 amateur Football clubs in France, in order to produce a web series. The fruit of this trip should be broadcast at the beginning of December, on the channels of beIN Sports, for the first episode of this web series.
There is no question of simply making up the numbers or traveling as tourists, for journalist Jean-Charles Sabattier: “I've been in this match for two or three days, it's a bit complicated to find information. The idea, out of respect for both teams, is to prepare it in the same way and with the greatest professionalism.”
To the point of putting pressure on yourself, even. “From the Klassiker (Bayern Munich – Dortmund), we did a lot. There, we know that it will be for people who know the teams well, so the sounding board may be different if we make a mistake. But we both have German rigor, smiles Guillou, who, for the occasion, will also return to Brittany, whose family comes from the Baie des Trépassés, between Audierne (29) and Pont-Croix (29). It's a nice wink, I'm going to smell the sausage pancakes. I'm a real kid who will look 30 years younger without paying for a botox treatment! »
“Football is built there”
Sabattier, too, is enjoying this reconnection to real football. “Football is built there, in these matches, these small towns. It feels good to get back to the roots, where people are happy to see us. I followed the match against Lorient, I immersed myself in club news. »
For the Morbihan club, this is a new media spotlight, after a fantastic run in the Coupe de France (7th round lost against FC Lorient last week) and the arrival of Youtuber Stadito for the occasion.
