EDF strike at the Port

Mobilized since Tuesday, EDF employees have gone on strike.Three types of demands are put forward: working time, employment and reduced bonuses. Discussions between management and the strikers did not result in an agreement yesterday. So this Thursday, November 21, the mobilization continues and the CGTR maintains the pressure.

Negotiations resumed this morning. They were supposed to take place at the end of the morning, but they were brought forward. And despite some progress, the strikers decided to continue their mobilization. At the end of the day, several burning pallets blocked the road in front of the power station and between the two roundabouts.

The movement receives support this Thursday from the CGTR of Albioma Le Gol and Rouge, as well as Ports et Docks and the CGTR Buildings. The CFE CGC of EDF is also supportive but is not in the negotiation.

Trade unionists do not rule out a hardening of the movement if today's negotiations produce nothing. “Comrades, we will have to toughen up the movement, declared Yoen Giral Deboisvilliers, le sCSE secretary and CGTR union representative. What are they waiting for? Are there any cuts?”

The strikers had indicated on the first day of the strike that they did not want impact the population, but this could happen if a breakdown occurs and there is no one to repair it.

EDF management communicated in writing this morning to be “committed to quality social dialogue” and have “met the union delegation on several occasions to discuss the demands made.”

She specifies that “Management makes respect for Labor Law a priority and remains fully determined to maintain a respectful and fair working environment for all, while guaranteeing the continuity of electricity production, essential for the region.”
