Attempted murder in Quebec: 27-year-old suspect arrested

Quebec police have arrested a 27-year-old man who allegedly tried to kill another individual with a firearm in Limoilou in recent days.

The facts date back to last Saturday, when a gunshot was heard in the La Cité-Limoilou area, around 7:20 p.m. Although searches were conducted, no suspects or victims were located.

An investigation carried out by the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) finally made it possible to identify the individuals involved in this affair in the following days.

In collaboration with ENRCO and the Tactical Intervention Group, Quebec police arrested a 27-year-old man for attempted murder, carrying a weapon with a dangerous purpose and for discharging a firearm.

The latter was also allegedly involved in an armed attack on Wednesday.

A search of his home also allowed the authorities to get their hands on a baseball bat, a knife, $700 in Canadian currency, 25 g of crystal meth and 200 methamphetamine tablets.

“The man is currently in custody and is expected to appear [jeudi] at the Quebec courthouse,” said Laurence Godbout, spokesperson for the SPVQ.

Two other people who were there during the search, a 25-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, were also arrested. The first was the subject of an arrest warrant and the second broke a commitment.

As for the victim in this case, a 25-year-old man, he escaped without injury, he who was not hit by the projectile.
