Rural Coordination, the main agricultural union mobilized on the ground on Thursday, maintains its blockade of the commercial port of Bordeaux, on the fourth day of mobilization of farmers. Access to the port and the oil depot was blocked by tires, cables and a tractor.
“Where block so much that [la ministre de l’agriculture] Annie Geneva and [le Premier ministre] Michel Barnier does not put in place solutions for the profession […] We don’t want a little money today to return to our farms, we want reforms to live,” declared Aurélie Armand, director of Rural Coordination of Lot-et-Garonne.
Evacuation in Gironde
Further south, in the Landes, farmers from Rural Coordination still occupy a Leclerc purchasing center in Mont-de-Marsan. But the authorities gave them until Friday inclusive to vacate the premises. In Beychac-et-Caillau (Gironde), the gendarmes evacuated the blockage of two logistics platforms “without incident”, according to the prefecture.
The prefect of Landes condemned “the damage committed by members of the Rural Coordination” Wednesday evening on sites of the Mutualité sociale agricole and the Departmental Directorate of Territories and the Sea, targeted by a fire “voluntarily started” in its pregnant.
Our file on the agricultural crisis
At the other end of France, in Strasbourg, members of the second agricultural union set up in the center with around ten tractors to distribute 600 kg of apples. The authorities note a “slight decline” in mobilization compared to the beginning of the week, when the majority unions FNSEA and Young Farmers were also on the ground.
The president of the FNSEA Arnaud Rousseau announced Wednesday that the next demonstrations led by its members would take place next week, “Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday”.
