Sheep meat prices are rising again in Casablanca – Consonews

After a period of calm, Casablanca slaughterhouses recorded an increase in indicative prices for sheep meat of 7 DH/kg, according to data published for the week of November 20, 2024. These prices, provided as an indication, reflect the rates wholesale and may vary depending on the quality and origin of the products. They apply exclusively to the wholesale market and do not concern retailers.

As for vegetables, a notable drop was noted for flagship products such as tomatoes, onions and zucchini, with respective prices of 4 DH/kg, 2.50 DH/kg and 5.50 DH/kg. Eggplants and cucumbers also saw their prices decrease from 0.5 to 1 DH/kg.

For fruits, overall stability was observed, particularly for avocados, bananas and local apples, whose prices remain respectively at 17 DH/kg, 7.50 DH/kg and 9 DH/kg. Oranges remain below 5 DH/kg, while pomegranates record a slight increase, reaching 4.20 DH/kg.

As for beef, prices remain stable, oscillating between 91 and 93 DH/kg in the city’s slaughterhouses. On the other hand, sheep meat now reaches almost 120 DH/kg, marking a significant increase.
