Awards for excellence in tourism in NB: Acadia wins several awards

The New Brunswick Tourism Industry Association, the voice of tourism across the province, presented several awards of excellence to different players in the tourism industry in Acadia.

The awards were presented at an awards gala presented on the sidelines of the Annual Tourism Summit held in Saint John mid-last week.

The 2024 Major Festival and Event Prize was awarded to the Grande Grouille, the flagship event of the New Brunswick Botanical Garden for several years.

Held early last month, the activity attracted no less than 17,769 visitors during its 15th edition, a number of people never seen in the history of the event.

“Receiving an award like that, when you do events, it sure gives you the desire to continue doing things well. To think that the Great Grouille started 15 years ago with just 500 visitors!” said Anne Martin, the events coordinator at the New Brunswick Botanical Garden.

“It’s a magical world that is offered to people for a few days. It’s nice to see the smiles on the faces of visitors who can enjoy an outing that feels good, even for some who may be going through difficult times.

The Ambassador Prize was awarded to Daniel Clavette, the co-owner of Camping Panoramic, in Saint-Jacques.

The award is given to an individual whose professionalism, dedication, attitude and quality of service exemplify excellence within the New Brunswick tourism industry.

The Edmundston Madawaska Tourism Office has been added to the list of gala winners from the Edmundston region.

The organization won the Large Business Marketing Award, which is awarded to a tourism operator, business or organization that has implemented a cutting-edge digital promotional strategy, thus contributing to its own success in addition to having a positive impact on New Brunswick’s tourism industry.

The Bouctouche Shellfish Festival (Partnership Award), the Pays de la Sagouine for Akadi Lumina (Tourism Product Development Award) and Tourisme Péninsule Acadienne (Small Business Marketing Award) were also recognized by the Industry Association tourism of New Brunswick.
