Ford Escort RS Cosworth ’92
(On sale at the used car dealership)
A special WRC approval with a unique double wing.
In the 1990s, Ford entered the race for the World Rally Championship (WRC) with the Sierra RS Cosworth 4×4. Then, in 1992, the Escort RS Cosworth was released, a special homologation car, developed to offer even higher performance. The original Escort was a masterpiece, already widely used in rally racing from the late 1960s through the 1970s. Years later, Ford of Europe adopted the compact body of the 5th generation Escort , installed the Sierra’s four-wheel drive powertrain, and adorned the rear of the vehicle with a large two-level spoiler to confirm the impressive metamorphosis. At the heart of the beast is a longitudinally mounted 2.0-liter twin-cam turbocharged engine built by Cosworth, as the car’s name suggests. The bore/stroke ratio has been reviewed and corrected. This results in a total displacement of 1,993 cc producing 223.9 BHP/30.4 kgfm on the stock mapping. On the four-wheel drive system, the center differential combines a viscous coupling and planetary gear train for maximum reliability. The Escort RS Cosworth began production in 1992 and obtained its homologation the following year, when it entered the WRC in the Group A category. The “Cossie”, as fans called it, won the 2 first places in round 3 of the Rally Portugal. She then snatched back-to-back victories in Round 5 (Tour de Corse) and Round 6 (Acropolis) before repeating the feat in Rounds 11 and 12 (San Remo and Spain), restoring Ford’s reputation as a serious competitor in the world of rallying.

Mercedes-Benz W 196 R ’55
(On sale at the Legendary Cars dealership)
A legendary F1 car that marked the history of motorsport.
The W 196 was produced by Mercedes-Benz after its return to motor racing in 1951. Its 2.5 liter engine met the standards of the 1954 Formula 1 regulations. It was developed at the same time as a sports racing model which shared the same basic components. The W 196 was entered in F1, while the W 196 S competed in sports car races, with both cars triumphing in their respective fields. The chassis consisted of a tubular space frame, and it first appeared at the 1954 French Grand Prix, with aerodynamic bodywork that covered the front and rear wheels. But at the next race at the British Grand Prix, it was found that this style of fairing obstructed the driver’s view and required far too much maintenance. Thus, from the German Grand Prix, the car was entered with an open-wheel body, and the profiled fairing was reserved for fast circuits. But these were not the only two silhouette types, because the chassis was configured with 3 different wheelbase lengths, 2 types of brakes and 2 engine positions, for a total of 7 variations. Its engine was an in-line 8-cylinder built on the basis of two blocks of 4-cylinders connected lengthwise. At full throttle, it could develop 285 BHP from a displacement of 2,496 cc, and propel the car to a top speed of 180.2 mph. The W 196 won the 1954 and 1955 Formula One World Drivers’ Championships with Juan Manuel Fangio at the wheel.

Porsche 911 Turbo S (992) ’20
(On sale in Brand Central)
The high-performance model of the 8th generation 911.
An icon of the Porsche range for more than 60 years, the 911 entered its eighth generation in 2018 under the code name “992”. Externally, the 992 is a refinement of elements made on the previous model, the 991. The chassis size has increased slightly, but considerable effort has been made to keep weight low through increased use of aluminum . Another notable change is that the narrow-body base model from previous generations has not been reused. Another point, the car is built on the new modular technical platform “MMB”. This flexible platform includes a front axle, floor and rear axle with the ability to accommodate a rear or mid-engine, by adjusting the position of the rear axle. In terms of the powertrain, a rationalization process has been undertaken, and the base model is equipped with a 3-liter turbocharged flat-six engine. The power delivered depends on the model. The Carrera develops 379.7 BHP, while the Carrera S develops 443.8 BHP. The standard transmission is an 8-speed PDK automatic gearbox, but a 7-speed manual gearbox is available on the Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S models. In April 2020, the Turbo S model was added to the 992 family as an ultra-high performance model. With a slightly shorter stroke than previous Turbo S models, its 3,745 cc twin-turbo flat-6 engine delivers an impressive 641 BHP/800 Nm (81.6 kgfm) to all four wheels.

Porsche Mission X ’23
For sale in Brand Central
A hypercar concept to celebrate Porsche’s 75th anniversary.
On June 8, 1948, the very first car to bear the Porsche name, the 356 No. 1 Roadster, was approved, marking the advent of one of the greatest sports car brands in history. On this same date 75 years later, in 2023, the company unveiled a new concept, a true technological beacon for the sports car of the future, drawing inspiration from many legendary Porsche models. This is the Mission X. This 2-seater electric hypercar is relatively compact, with a length of 4,500 mm and a width of 2,000 mm. Measuring just 1,200mm in height, its low bodywork sports a sculptural silhouette and muscular shapes that prove that hypercars don’t necessarily need to appear aggressive. Every element on the exterior is reminiscent of historic Porsche racing cars. The headlights are a reinterpretation of the signature four-point lighting of models like the 906 and 908, while the Le Mans doors are identical to those of the legendary 917. At the rear, a backlit “PORSCHE” monogram is placed in the center of the optical units, which extend to the sides. As for the Porsche badge on the hood and steering wheel, it is a modernized version of the classic badge. The entire interior is reminiscent of motor racing, including the open-top steering wheel with mode switches and paddles. On the passenger side, a bayonet system integrated into the dashboard allows for the attachment of a timing module created by Porsche Design, with analog and digital display. The driver can also press the record button on the multifunction control module at any time to shoot video with the numerous onboard cameras. On the performance side, it has all the potential to be the fastest road-legal model of all on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, a theory to be verified in Gran Turismo 7. Its weight/power ratio is more than 1 PS per kilo, and it displays significantly greater downforce than the current 911 GT3 RS. The concept has a radical load capacity. It offers significantly improved charging performance with its 900-volt system architecture and recharges twice as quickly as the Taycan Turbo S, Porsche’s currently most efficient model in this regard.

Suzuki Jimny Sierra JC ’18
For sale in Brand Central
A “stronger” Jimny aiming for international success.
If the limited size of the Suzuki Jimny allows it to meet the standards of keijidosha in Japan, an all-terrain vehicle of foolproof robustness with a real ladder chassis is hidden under its bodywork. The Jimny Sierra is a model intended for the global market freed from constraints. Introduced in 2018, the JB74 chassis is the third generation since the model appeared in 1994. Compared to the previous JB43 chassis, the new model is 50 mm shorter and 45 mm wider. This is accentuated by the body design which adopts a more daring and square aesthetic. The car features the 1,460 cc DOHC in-line 4-cylinder “K15B” engine developing 100.6 BHP/13.3 kgfm. At first glance, these numbers may seem paltry, but the sustained low-end torque makes the vehicle absolutely perfect for off-road travel. The four-wheel drive system is a part-time setup with a mechanical transfer case. With rigid axles at the front and rear, the excellent suspension allows you to feel at ease on rocks, in mud or on tarmac roads.
