Live – The snow is starting to hold on the roads of the Loiret

Métoé France's forecasts are confirmed: it has been snowing since 10 a.m. this morning in the Loiret. The department had been placed on orange “snow and ice” vigilance. It is planned 2 to 5 cm of snow cumulatively and up to 10 cm locally in eastern Loiret.

The first salt spreaders

This morning, the Loiret departmental council decided to take out its salt spreaders, a little earlier than planned. They will prioritize cleaning the main roads such as RD2020 and RD2060. As of yesterday, the Loiret Prefecture had issued an order with traffic restriction measures for heavy goods vehicles: overtaking ban and speed reduction of 20km/hour. She recommends that all residents limit their travel if possible.

What about school transportation?

School transport was provided normally this Thursday morning. The Centre-Val de Loire Region, in charge of this transport, is studying the possibility of bringing the children home earlier if the snow episode continues and the snow remains on the ground.
