While 97 Israelis (including 34 dead) are still detained by Hamas in Gaza, the Israeli Prime Minister launched a call for mobilization to the Gazan population.
While the Civil Defense of the Gaza Strip announced Thursday morning the deaths of 22 people killed overnight by an Israeli strike in Gaza City, Benjamin Netanyahu offered a “deal” to Gazans. The prime minister offered to offer $5 million to anyone who brings back a hostage held in Gaza and pledged to find in Israel “a safe way for him and his family to get out” of Gaza.
Benjamin Netanyahu spoke in a video message broadcast since Tuesday evening, November 19 and filmed from the Netzarim corridor, a buffer zone set up by the Israeli army which cuts off the north of the Gaza Strip from the rest of the small Palestinian territory. On the other hand, “anyone who dares to harm our hostages is considered dead. We will pursue you and we will catch you,” he said.

The choice is yours, but the result will be the same. We will bring them all back.
Benjamin Netanyahu
His announcement aroused the indignation of the mother of Matan Zangauker, one of the hostages still held in Gaza, who deplored to CNN that “the Prime Minister is selling the lives of the hostages”. “When this is the Prime Minister’s strategy, I understand that he has no intention of saving the hostages, that he will continue to procrastinate and that he intends to sacrifice them, as well as the soldiers, on the spot. “altar of his political considerations,” she continued.

Still 97 Israelis captive
“We are also making efforts to locate the hostages and bring them back. We are not giving up on it. We will continue to do this until we have found them all: the living and the dead,” Benjamin Netanyahu assured in his message. At the same time, late Wednesday, November 20, the United States prevented the UN Security Council from calling for an “immediate, unconditional and permanent” ceasefire in Gaza, arguing that this did not guarantee the return Israeli hostages.
During the unprecedented attack by commandos of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas on October 7, 2023, 251 people were kidnapped on Israeli soil. A total of 97 hostages remain in Gaza, 34 of whom were declared dead by the army.
This is the fourth time since the start of the war between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas that Benjamin Netanyahu’s services have broadcast videos of the Israeli Prime Minister filmed inside the Gaza Strip. Never before had images been filmed so deep inside the coastal territory devastated by more than a year of war.
