The alleged events took place on the evening of Sunday, November 17, during an altercation between two men in their thirties. A suspect was quickly arrested in a drunken state, before being placed in police custody as part of a procedure initially opened for “attempted murder”.
After more than 24 hours of police custody in the premises of the Limoux research brigade (BR) in charge of investigations, a 37-year-old man was referred to the Narbonne criminal investigation center in the day of Tuesday, November 19. Also, if the initial procedure had been opened for “tentative d’homicide” through the prosecution, we learned that the Narbonne investigating judge had finally considered that the facts were not criminal in nature but misdemeanor.

They were therefore penalized and reclassified by the judge in “violence aggravated by the use of a weapon while drunk”. Disqualified, the Narbonne public prosecutor's office did not appeal this decision. Then sent before the judge of freedoms and detention, the accused was placed in pre-trial detention for a period of four months, which could possibly be extended.
The alleged facts date back to Sunday November 17 in Quillan, with a man seriously injured in the neck after receiving a stab in the throat during an altercation. The scene took place on the public highway around 9:30 p.m.. Aged 35, the victim was treated in a condition considered serious, and evacuated to a Toulouse hospital where she underwent surgery.
