The surge of Villeneuve-d’Ascq
This trip looked like a fear match. Out of eleven consecutive defeats (all competitions combined), the Northerners of Villeneuve d’Ascq received the first in the Polish Championship, not without pressure. Dominated in the first quarter (17-26), the Northerners, clumsy at shooting, waited until the second quarter to come back with other intentions. More compact, more aggressive, Villeneuve-d’Ascq played three very good quarters and won (100-83). Rachid Meziane’s players relied on the three-point skill of their French back Carla Leite (24 points). American pivot Kelsey Bone brought her 1.93 meter height to speak under the circle to score 18 points.
