A large, durable smartphone
The iPhone 14 Plus is simply a bigger iPhone 14. The grip loses a little in ease of use, but it makes up for that by being incredibly light. The good news is that it offers a much more comfortable gaming and viewing experience with this large 6.7-inch panel, compared to 6.1 inches for the classic model. Its OLED panel is of very good quality, but remains limited to 60 Hz… Navigation still remains very pleasant and optimized.
This large smartphone especially accommodates a larger battery and therefore promises better autonomy. During our test, it proved to be a real champion during our test. He was able to reach two consecutive days of autonomy without any problem. And, if you have heavy use, you should get through the day without worry. On the other hand, its slow charging prevents it from having a rating of 10/10 in this category.
An iPhone that still performs well
To function, the Plus model benefits from the iPhone 13 Pro chip: the A15 Bionic, with a 6-core CPU and a 5-core GPU. A slight gain in power compared to the previous model, but without much change. It will be able to handle any type of task (heavy applications, 3D games) without slowing down. Then, the user experience is impeccable with iOS 17 (very soon iOS 18) and the Apple ecosystem still remains fluid and easy to use.
To finish on the photo part, the iPhone 14 Plus consists of two 12 megapixel sensors with a wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lens. Overall, it offers a satisfying experience in favorable conditions, with natural colors and an exceedingly fast shutter release. On the other hand, it struggles a little to prevail in more difficult situations, such as at night. The selfie camera now includes autofocus. The photos are successful, but we regret the absence of a telephoto lens for the price.
