a compact connected telescope which is entitled to €800 reduction for Black Friday Week

If you want to get started in stargazing, but it intimidates you because it appears too complex to master, then you should turn to a connected telescope that is ideal for novices. This is precisely the case for the Unistellar Odyssey Pro, which can be found, during Black Friday Week, at 3,199 euros instead of 3,999 euros.

Amateur connected telescopes are magical in that they allow all newbies to stargazing to be able to admire stars and constellations without needing to study astronomy first. Thanks to their advanced technology, they are even able to offer us breathtaking images in the city, despite light pollution. The Unistellar Odyssey Pro model, very compact and easy to use, is for example a good reference, and during Black Friday Week, its price benefits from a reduction of 800 euros.

The highlights of the Unistellar Odyssey Pro

  • A compact format
  • A database of 37 million stars and 5,000 celestial objects
  • A Nikon eyepiece to observe the stars in real time

Initially priced at 3,999 euros, the Unistellar Odyssey Pro connected telescope is now offered at 3,199 euros on the brand’s official website. The classic Odyssey model, without eyepiece, is sold for 1,839 euros instead of 2,299 euros, still on the Unistellar website.

A compact telescope ideal for beginners

The Unistellar Odyssey Pro telescope is first of all a particularly compact model (much more than its big brother, the eVscope 2) and weighs only 4 kg, while its tripod does not exceed 2.5 kg; we are therefore far from the traditional behemoths to which we must leave considerable space. The Odyssey Pro can be installed on a small balcony without any problem. On this Pro version, and unlike the classic, we also find a Nikon electronic eyepiece through which we can look, in a more traditional way, at the targeted celestial object. Immersion guaranteed.

But the Odyssey Pro is above all a connected telescope that works with an application, available on iOS and Android, via which we can observe each photo captured by the telescope. How does it work, practically? It’s quite simple: the application provides a considerable database, which lists 37 million stars and 5,000 celestial objects, either nebulae or galaxies. All you have to do is choose a star, or enter the coordinates of one in particular, so that the motorized telescope automatically moves towards it to take a photo. Photo that can then be found on the application.

Ultra-detailed shots

The Odyssey Pro telescope does not just point out stars to show them to you on your smartphone. Above all, it will act to make each shot well detailed, in particular thanks to its image processing algorithm which eliminates any trace of light pollution, which can be a real obstacle when observing in the city. The focus is obviously automatic and requires no manual adjustment. But that’s not all. The brand also, last October, introduced a new feature on the application, Vivid Vision, which considerably improves each shot: thanks to this technology, the colors of the cosmos are much more vibrant and realistic, and imperfections correctly erased. Unistellar thus promises more detailed and contrasting images.

Concerning the more technical aspect, note that the Odyssey Pro has a 3.4 Mpx Sony sensor with a focal length of 320 mm; it is therefore less than on the eVscope 2, whose focal length reaches 450 mm, but the manufacturer assures that the image quality is approximately the same. The storage space, which allows each shot to be stored, is the same: 64 GB. Finally, in terms of autonomy, the brand indicates 5 hours of use before having to go through the recharge box, the telescope operating on battery.
