The church of Saint-Omer, in Pas-de-, was set on fire during the night of Sunday September 1st to Monday September 2nd. More than a year later a mysterious donor offered one million euros for its reconstruction and his identity was revealed.

Big surprise for the town hall of Saint-Omer (Pas-de-Calais). The municipality received a donation of one million euros for the reconstruction project of the Immaculée-Conception church, affected by a terrible fire a little over a year ago. But mystery reigned around the identity of this donor who had remained anonymous until Friday, November 15.

“A great date in the history of our beautiful city”

“This Friday will remain a great date in the history of our beautiful city. We welcomed Marie-Hélène Habert-Dassault and Benoît Habert for the presentation of a donation of one million euros to help finance the reconstruction of our church”, declared François Decoster, mayor of Saint-Omer.
