Morbihan is placed on yellow alert for strong winds this Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. This is accompanied by significant accumulations of rain. An alert is in progress for “risk of thunderstorms and rain flooding”. In Vannes, this spills over into certain sectors.
Flooding on Boulevard de la Paix
An agent from the City of Vannes was hard at work unblocking thedrain near the Giboire construction site on Boulevard de la Paix.
“It’s blocked unfortunately. It will take time to improve,” he told us shortly before 5 p.m.
In the sector of Lizzielarge puddles can be noted near the river of the same name (see video above).
“There is no no other sectors affected by flooding», says, at 5:30 p.m., François Ars, deputy mayor in charge of public spaces and urban mobility.
“For Boulevard de la Paix, the drains seem to be blocked. Is this linked to the construction site next door? Our services are in the process of unblocking them. It’s a steep area and the intensity of the rain caused a big puddle,” explains the deputy mayor.
