Pierre Palmade is on trial for involuntary injuries and not for manslaughter, even though a 27-year-old young woman lost the unborn baby she was carrying during the accident. A decision which is debated and which can be explained by the fact that under French law, the fetus does not have legal personality.
For these facts, the comedian incurs 14 years in prison and one fine of 200,000 eurosto which should be added damages for the victims, since he was in a state of legal recidivism. Indeed, the accident took place while Pierre Palmade was driving under the influence of drugs. He had already been convicted, in the summer of 2019, for “use and acquisition” of drugs in Paris.
Pierre Palmade is present at the hearing, which is to be held during the day.
