Samuel Montembeault chose the best possible time to play his best game of the season

The Canadian received a visit from Connor McDavid and the powerful offense of the Edmonton Oilers.

It’s the keeper Samuel Montembeault who had the difficult task of trying to limit the damage in front of the net to keep his team in the game.

But he did much more than that, he who was perfect, particularly brilliant in the first period, to allow his team to win by a score of 3 to 0 thanks to their second shutout of the season.

Not only did this performance come at the right time to help the Canadian try to get his season back on track, but there was also a large, very attentive spectator in the stands for the match.

According to what is reported Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sportsthe CEO Kyle Dubs of the Pittsburgh Penguins had made the trip to watch the game and take notes on a few players, as one of the senior leaders of Team Canada who will represent the country at the 4 Nations Cup.

In an interview after the match, the main person admitted that he was not aware of Dubas’ presence during the match. Here’s what he had to say about the situation.

I didn’t know Kyle Dubas was here tonight. It was Chantal Machabée who told me after the match. I could see the pucks clearly, but my eyes weren’t sharp enough to see all the way to the bridge! It’s sure a good feeling, the clean sheet in front of him.

After a particularly difficult start to the season, like the rest of the team, perhaps Montembeault gained points in the eyes of Dubas by mastering Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and their gang.

Now let’s see if he can turn things around enough to be one of the three goalies invited by Team Canada in two weeks when the team’s roster is officially announced.

See the post at the bottom.
