The Scott Brothers: actor Paul Teal dies at 35, Bethany Joy Lenz “devastated”

Cancer claimed the life of American actor Paul Teal this Friday, November 15, 2024. The disappearance of the 35-year-old actor was announced by his agent to CNN: “His remarkable talent, coupled with his kindness, left an indelible mark on all of us who were lucky enough to know him. The pain we feel in our hearts is immeasurable“.

Poignant words from Paul Teal's fiancée

Emilia Torello, his fiancée, found the courage to write a heartbreaking tribute this Sunday on Instagram: “You were my soul mate. You were swept away too soon, in a battle that you fought courageously without failing. Although a part of me died with you, I promise to fight to find the joy of living as hard as you fought to live each day“. Viewers were able to see Paul Teal in the film Deep waters with Ben Affleck on Prime Video in 2022, the series Good Behavior, Dynasty, Outer Banks, The Walking Dead : World Beyond, George & Tammythe mini-series The Staircase and movies Boarding for Christmas et Descendants: The Rise of Red from Disney.

Bethany Joy Lenz had invited him to join The Scott Brothers

The general public mainly saw him in season 7 of The Scott Brothers in 2010. He played Josh, a sleazy movie star, in seven episodes. It was actress Bethany Joy Lenz, aka Haley James Scott in the series, who recruited him, since she had directed the first episode in which Paul Teal appeared. Her choice fell on him since she had already been able to admire his talents in the musical The Notebook which she co-wrote in 2006. On Instagram, the actress expressed her deep sorrow: “My heart is so heavy. Paul Teal was the kind of guy who lit up a room effortlessly. His bright smile, his infectious laugh and his kind heart made you want to be close to him. (…) I worked closely with him for months. He was shy, funny and so, so comfortable on stage. Wow. It was like his second skin. He attracted everyone's attention. (…) It was a pleasure to work with him We stayed in touch at times. I would have liked more often. If only I had called him all those times I wanted to. Life is short. (…) He was too young to die. Much too young. I am devastated. (…) I will miss you, Paul. Thank you for sharing your light with us“.
