Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde spoke about the difficulties his club has been going through in recent weeks.
Reigning European and Spanish champion with Real Madrid, Federico Valverde confirms the current bad times for his club and he agrees that Real is going through a serious crisis. “We went 0-4 at the Bernabéu a few years ago and ended up winning the Champions League and La Liga. What ultimately matters during your year is if you won titles and not if you didn't win certain matches. There are still a lot of competitions, a lot of things to do. We are a team that has this rebellion to change the situation and move forward.
The story of this club is to never give up, you have to fight until the end. We have to be the first to fight hard in training and show people that we want to win everything this year. This is the only way to continue to improve and grow.” Explained the Uruguayan midfielder during an interview with ‘Movistar.’
A Clasico that hurts a lot
He then returned to the Clasico lost to Barça on October 27. “The level of football we have is not the best or what we thought we could have. It hurts to lose against a direct rival (Barça, editor's note) and with whom you risk your pride and your honor in one of the most watched matches in the world. It hurts a lot and it makes you feel very helpless not to score the three points on your field. But you also have to recognize when one plays an inferior game to the other and I think Barcelona played a very good game, especially in the second half. The first half was very balanced, but the goal changed everything (…) They played very well, they knew how to manage when they were in front and that's it. They did a good job at the Bernabéu.” The Merengues hope to do the same on their return.
