This Monday evening, the Abbé Pierre Foundation organized the 3rd edition of the Pics d'Or, a ceremony which ironically rewards the worst anti-homeless measures.
The winner this year is in Lyon. Located at 78 rue de Marseille in the 7th arrondissement, the anti-homeless device was installed under the courtyard of a student residence.
Called “Pot-pourri” by the Abbé Pierre Foundation, it consists of huge empty flower pots placed there so that the homeless do not set up camp.
He received more than 13,000 votes in the public vote category. “The climax of the ceremony: all categories combined, the symbol of frank and crude hostility, in the eyes of the public,” indicates the Abbé Pierre Foundation.
Potpourri is ahead of “Droit dans le mur”, walled arches on Boulevard de la Villette in Paris, “Les fleurs du mal”, greenery planted on steps on Place Lafourcade in Toulouse and “Dent de saw”, arches installed Place Gilbert Gaillard in Clermont-Ferrand.
“With this 3rd edition of the Pics d'Or, the Foundation has once again used satire to better denounce this injustice of which the most fragile among us are victims. The real fight to be waged is the one which will put an end to the poverty and exclusion in our country”declares Christophe Robert, general delegate of the Foundation.
