On BFMTV, Stéphane, the plum grower from Bergeracoi, recounts the call she received from Michel Barnier, the Prime Minister, after her moving testimony on France Bleu, last Friday.
“I picked up and heard, ‘hello Stéphane, it’s Michel Barnier’. I was taken aback… It was touching because he showed such closeness, was aware of our problems, it makes you want to fight,” she said.
“I understood that it was not just me that he was speaking to, it was the entire agricultural world to explain the supports to help us, to get us out of isolation and our distress,” continues -She.
“He asked me what we needed, we need cash and he told us that there would be subsidized loans, PGE…, we are stuck in our problems, we don’t think to ask for this aid”, explains the farmer.
