G20 call for peace, deadly strike in Hloukhiv

A Russian nighttime strike killed seven people, including a child, in northeastern Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Tuesday, November 19.

The drone strike targeted the Sumy region, bordering Russia, which has seen an increase in deadly bombings.

“This night, a drone hit Hlukhiv, destroying a dormitory in one of the educational institutions. At the moment, we tragically know that seven people, including a child, were killed in this attack.Volodymyr Zelensky said, adding that other victims could be trapped under the rubble.

The G20 member countries said they were in favor of “any constructive initiative” aimed at a “just and lasting peace” in Ukraine, in their joint declaration from the Rio de Janeiro summit published.

“We welcome all relevant and constructive initiatives in favor of a just peace” et « durable » in Ukraine, say members of the group of the largest economies on the planet, which includes Russia.

► A Russian delegation to North Korea
