Pierre Pineau: “I didn’t win my place by chance”

Pierre Pineau will launch his first season on the DP World Tour this Thursday in Australia. He will try to build on his good consistency which allowed him to enter the top 20 of the Challenge Tour in 2024.

For the third time in a row, Pierre Pineau will be this Thursday departing from BMW Australian PGA Championshipfirst tournament of the season. But unlike the previous two years, the player Vaudreuil will be there for the first time as a full member of the DP World Tour.

The 25-year-old golfer has indeed obtained his full card in the first European division at the end of a good 2024 season on the Challenge Tour. Despite a complicated and stressful final (36th), he took 20th place in the Road To Mallorca.

Great regularity

The player followed by Altus Performance has chosen to play a lot in 2024 with no less than 28 tournaments played on the Challenge Tour. A profitable choice since he multiplied the good results with 8 top 10s. Above all, he was very consistent, making the cut 24 times.

« It was a great season, I was super consistenthe confirms. I've never had so many cuts. I surrounded myself with good staff, with a physiotherapist and a fitness trainer. I think this work around the staff has paid off a lot. The technical part too a little, but I haven't revolutionized anything in my game. »

This is what allowed me to do well and play almost all the tournaments of the year.

Beyond those around him, Pierre Pineau was also able to count on his experience from his first two seasons. “ Several things made the difference compared to the previous two yearscontinues the winner of thePortuguese Open in 2022. I think it's being more professional, knowing the courses, knowing the circuit, and knowing how it works. How to travel between tournaments too, casually it's very important, it's what allowed me to go well and play almost all the tournaments of the year. »

Four more tournaments

The year of Pierre Pineau is therefore far from over. In addition to this first meeting of the season, he will continue the following week, still in Australia. A tournament which was successful for him since he took 10th place in December 2022, before following up a few days later with an 11th place in Mauritius. It is in this same AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open that he will conclude his year, a week after playing theAlfred Dunhill Championship on the magnificent course of Leopard Creek in South Africa.

« These first experiences will be important, especially for the first tournaments, I already know the courses, that helps. And I know I've performed on the DP World Tour before, I didn't earn my spot by chance. I can't wait to get started. »
