Rumilly: a first brawl in at the origin of the fight which cost the life of a 19-year-old?

Many questions still remain unanswered this Monday in Rumilly, after the death of a 19-year-old from the town. Sunday afternoon a little before 4:30 p.m., he was fatally shot by a bullet during a brawl between two groups, near the Place d’Armes and near children’s games. One of his friends, aged 20, was also seriously injured and was airlifted to hospital in an absolute emergency. The prosecution opened an investigation for murder and attempted murder, she was entrusted to the gendarmes of the Chambéry research section. From Sunday evening, witnesses from the scene were interviewed to try to understand the circumstances of the tragedy.

Although we still do not know the reasons for the fight between the two groups of young people, the first investigations reveal thata group from Annecy arrived in Rumilly aboard a Peugeot Partner to meet the secondmade up of nine people from the town, Sunday around 4:20 p.m. According to the Annecy public prosecutor’s office, the vehicle stopped near the Place d’Armes, the two groups met again and a fight broke out, “for a reason still unknown“. During this brawl, one of the people who arrived from Annecy fell to the ground and was hit by members of the Rumilly group. The latter took out a weapon and opened fire at least twice.

The 19-year-old young man was fatally shot in the chest and his 20-year-old friend was shot in the head. “The individuals from Annecy fled on foot and are still wanted“, specifies the Annecy prosecutor’s office in its press release, which adds that according to the first testimonies “the murder follows a first brawl that occurred on the night of November 16 to 17 around 1 a.m. in Annecy, for equally unknown reasons.”
