While in Crécy-la-Chapelle or Coulommiers, traders, business leaders and individuals are still trying to erase the traces of the latest flood, some towns are slowly recovering from previous floods. 2024 having been a particularly painful year in this area in Seine-et-Marne.
La Ferté, Crécy, Sablonnières and Pommeuse compensated by the Department
Friday November 15, 2024, the Departmental Council, meeting in public session, decided to grant exceptional help to several municipalities affected by these bad weather, via the compensation fund.
The Department has thus released €52,112 for four communities affected by the floods of February and August 2024. This aid aims to help municipalities to renovate their roads in particular or the rainwater network, as well as to replace certain road equipment in order to ensure the safety of motorists.
The towns of La Ferté-Gaucher and Pommeuse will thus each receive 12 000 € as compensation for the consequences of the February flood. Crécy-la-Chapelle will receive 4 112 € for this same flood.
Concerning the August 2024 flood, the Department of Seine-et-Marne will pay 12 000 € to the towns of La Ferté-Gaucher and Sablonnières.
“These subsidies aim to enable affected municipalities to quickly restore their infrastructure and to strengthen security for residents,” specifies the Department.
During this same session, the Departmental Council approved a subsidy for the maintenance of rivers, as part of the Departmental Water Plan. This includes assistance from €25,382 for the maintenance of Petit Morin et €21,360 for the Yerres and its tributariesmanaged respectively by the mixed unions concerned.
