“We are so happy to be able to come back to Marmande.” Sylvie Vasseur, director of Maurig real estate agency hopes to have a nice gift for the holidays at the end of the year 2024: a new agency.

It must be said that the emblematic Marmandaise agency has existed since 1957. Historically located on the boulevards, on the ground floor of the Messageries buildingit was destroyed in the fire on the night of September 30 to October 1, 2023. “A little over a year… it goes by quickly, but it was long.”

Fortunately, she had created an agency in Sainte-Bazeille (Lot-et-Garonne). It was the place of retreat and 72 hours after the terrible firecustomers were received. “What we wanted was to maintain the activity and show that we still existed.”

A station outside the city center

There has certainly been a drop in activities, however, the agency has not stopped working…while looking for new premises. “We wanted to be located in the city center, as has been the case since 1957.” But this was not possible… it was difficult to find suitable premises. A premises was targeted, “but the lease did not suit us” explains Sylvie Vasseur.

Through searching, the team came across a nugget: the old gas station on the Lolya sideavenue des Martyrs-de-la-Résistance. “It’s a very busy area and there’s a shopping center right next door.”

A new generation agency

The work is progressing well. In the name of Maurig Immobilier will be added the annotation “the station”. The 749 m² plot will allow customers to park without difficulty.

Everything has been stripped down, “we are going to keep the awning of the service station, it will be planted with vegetation. There will also be a garden and the offices will be separated by workshop-style glass walls,” specifies the director. To display ads, no less 12 meters of window. The work is entirely carried out by local craftsmen.
