Arenteiro gets a draw against Lugo (1-1)

Lugo and Arenteiro share the points after a 1-1 draw at the Anxo Carro Stadium.

The match played this Sunday at the Anxo Carro stadium between Lugo and Arenteiro ended with a score of 1-1. Lugo was hoping to increase their points tally after a 1-1 draw in their last meeting against Barça B. On the other hand, Arenteiro had also recorded a 1-1 draw against Amorebieta, adding a point in their last competitive match . With this result, the home team climbed to seventh place, while Arenteiro remained in second position at the end of the match.

During the first half, neither team managed to score, resulting in a scoreless first half.

The second half saw Arenteiro open the scoring, capitalizing on a chance with David Ferreiro scoring the first goal in the 67th minute. However, Lugo reacted quickly, equalizing in the 77th minute thanks to a penalty converted by Mendoza, concluding the match with a final score of 1-1.

Regarding substitutions, Lugo brought in Mendoza, Vidal, Guille Perero, Jaume Cuéllar, and Lesme in place of Martín Ochoa, Roger, Jorge González, Jon Cabo, and Raúl Hernández, while Arenteiro’s changes involved Marcos Baselga , Curro, and Markitos, who replaced Enol, Diego Gómez, and Martín Solar.

The referee handed out yellow cards to five players. For Lugo, Roger, Jorge González, Raúl Hernández, and Juan Rodríguez were cautioned, while Pascu was penalized for Arenteiro.

After this draw, Arenteiro ranks second in the table with 22 points, securing a place in the playoffs for promotion to the Second Division. Meanwhile, the point earned by Lugo in this match propelled them to seventh place with 19 points.

Next day, Lugo will face Zamora away, while Arenteiro will host Osasuna Promesas at home.
