France-Lebanon Prize: who are the five finalists

The France-Lebanon prize has announced its five finalists. This is Marwan Chahine for Beirut, April 13, 1975: autopsy of a spark (Belfond, 2024); Maroun Eddé for The destruction of the state (Books, 2023); Arielle Meyer MacLeod for Interior views after destruction (Arléa, 2024); Yves Michaud for Etel Adnan. Angels, fog and the night palace (Gallimard, 2023) and Emmanuel Villin for Kim Philby and I (Stock, 2024).

The France-Lebanon Prize is a literary prize awarded by the Association of French-language Writers (Adelf) since 1980. It recognizes each year a Lebanese writer in French or a French writer whose work’s subject concerns Lebanon. .

The winner will be announced by the Franco-Lebanese jury at the beginning of December and the prize will be presented at the Arab World Institute on January 11, as part of a “Lebanese Week” and during an official exchange session with the 5 finalists.

In 2023, the France-Lebanon prize was awarded to Olivier Rohe for Seaside song (ed. Allia). A special mention was awarded to Céline Regnard, for her essay I don’t transit (ed. Anamosa).
