Alpine skiing – World Cup. Levi: Clément Noël takes the lead in the slalom, Steven Amiez on the provisional podium

Clément Noël takes the lead in the first round of the Levi slalom. The Vosgien is just ahead of Loic Meillard and his Savoyard compatriot Steven Amiez, only 21 hundredths from the lead. Second round at 1 p.m.

This is the ski that needed to be produced to play up front. Clément Noël and Steven Amiez each had an excellent run to place themselves in first and third positions respectively, this Sunday during the first act of the Levi slalom. The Vosges and the Savoyards are those who managed the grip best and who were not afraid of making mistakes to gain speed. The skier from Val d'Isère undoubtedly lost several tenths in the wall, which did not prevent him from taking the lead. As for the skier from Courchevel, he was able to make progress at certain times, but at the finish, only 21 hundredths behind his compatriot.

The Blues will play for victory in the second round (1 p.m.).

We pile up behind Steven Amiez

Be careful, a ghost is lurking between the Blues. Loïc Meillard did not start in Sölden due to an intervertebral disc injury. His back is better, that was clear during his round. The Swiss is only two hundredths behind Clément Noël and is inevitably going for victory. Three other men will be fighting for the podium from 1 p.m. Linus Strasser is only three tenths behind the leader, Dave Ryding is 41 hundredths behind. World Cup overall leader Alexander Steen Olsen was excellent with 16 on his shoulders. He is only 57 hundredths from first place.

It was possible to return with a larger bib. Tanguy Nef slips into 6th place between Ryding and Steen Olsen, being better than Clément Noël in the wall. Zubcic is on the verge of the Top 10. Marcel Hirscher had difficulties on this track where he won three times. The Dutchman does not take the qualification. Lucas Pinheiro Braathen is also on point in slalom. 4th in Sölden, the Brazilian is less than a second behind in this first round (10th). Eduard Hallberg, at home, takes 8th place. The Finn was immense.

No other qualified French people

Victor Muffat-Jeandet believed in it for a while, but he ended up being eliminated by a bib higher than his own. Paco Rassat, Léo Anguenot and Hugo Desgrippes did not finish the race. Auguste Aulnette arrived at the bottom for his 2nd start in the World Cup, but with several big mistakes, he did not qualify.

See you at 1 p.m. for the second round.
