“We had so much fun”subtitles the Splendid for his forthcoming work, The Splendid on the Splendidwhich will be published on November 20 by Editions du Cherche Midi. A collective biography celebrating 50 years of the legendary troupe, emphasizing the laughter and joy its members had in bringing it to life. Unfortunately, on October 3, it was not a time for fun: Michel Blanc disappeared, leaving behind a troop in mourning. Very discreet, the members of Splendid spoke little, preferring to live out their pain far from the flashes. A meditation evoked by Thierry Lhermitte this Sunday, November 17 in an interview given to Parisian.
“We are not forced to share our pain”declared the actor, then admitting to having suffered a lot from the death of his friend. The two actors were very invested in the creation of the collective work to come, so it was only natural that the 71-year-old actor immersed himself in the work of his colleague to bring back the memory. “The day Michel died, I didn’t sleep, I read everything he had written, it upset me.” Texts which will be available from Wednesday November 20 in bookstores, continuing the memory of the incomparable interpreter of Jean-Claude Dusse.

Thierry Lhermitte, this question that still torments him about the death of Michel Blanc
Died on October 3, Michel Blanc had received only three days before the proof (copy before printing, editor's note) of the work The Splendid by the Splendid, we had so much fun! But could he have looked through it before his death? A question that remained unanswered, and which still questions Thierry Lhermitte today. Indeed, the actor described their book as “love letters we write to each other”. It remains to be seen whether Michel Blanc was able to discover those addressed to him. “What I said to Michel was recorded a month before his deathI was happy at the idea of him discovering it, but he must not have had time to read it. The confirmation was three days before his disappearance.” And to conclude, without receiving a response: “Did he read everything? I don't know.”
