Relentless airstrikes targeted Beirut’s southern suburbs while a “major barrage of rockets” fired by Hezbollah hit a synagogue in Haifa.
The Israeli army intensely bombed Hezbollah strongholds near Beirut and in the south and east of Lebanon this Saturday, November 16, the day after the announcement of the examination by Lebanese leaders of a truce proposal issued by the United States.
Three children killed in Israeli strikes
At least six people, including three children, were killed and eleven others injured in a “raid by the Israeli enemy” on a village in eastern Lebanon, the Lebanese Health Ministry reported. According to the official news agency ANI, the six dead are all from the same family. “An Israeli enemy raid on Khraybeh killed six people including three children, one of them aged three, while 11 people, including five children, were injured,” according to the Ministry of Defense statement. Synagogue hit by rockets
For its part, the Israeli army announced this Saturday that a synagogue had been hit in a “major barrage of rockets” fired by the Lebanese Islamist movement Hezbollah on the city of Haifa (northwest), leaving two injured. “This is another clear example of how Hezbollah deliberately targets Israeli civilians” from southern Lebanon, the army announced in a statement, which, in another statement, mentioned “around 10 projectiles ” fired on Haifa Bay, some of which were intercepted. Hezbollah claims to have targeted military bases in and near Haifa in northern Israel.

The Lebanese Islamist movement Hezbollah said it hit an Israeli tank this Saturday with “a missile” which was a few kilometers from the border, in Lebanese territory, where the Israeli army has been carrying out a ground operation since the end of September. Hezbollah fighters targeted “a Merkava tank on the outskirts of the village of Chamaa (in southern Lebanon) with a guided missile, causing a fire there,” the Iran-backed movement said in a statement.
