The origin of the shots was not specified. Israeli President Isaac Herzog condemned the incident and warned of “an escalation of violence in the public sphere.”
“I have just spoken with the head of the Shin Bet and I insisted on the urgency of investigating” and holding the perpetrators accountable “as quickly as possible,” he said on X.
