Three Montérégie companies were rewarded during the Prix performance Québec (PPQ) ceremony to highlight the quality of their management and their overall performance. These are the companies Locweld, Blackcircles.ca, as well as Yourbarfactory.
These awards were awarded during the 32nd edition of the Salon on Best Business Practices, at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, on November 7.
Specializing in the manufacturing of lattice pylons, the Locweld company, based in Candiac, received the PPQ Trophy, the highest distinction a company can receive.
Their president and chief financial officer Pierre Lavoie indicates that everyone in the company is proud of this award, both employees and management.
“Within our company, there is a change in culture, namely the culture of continuous improvement and everyone is proud,” he specifies. It was a long process to enter the Prix performance Québec, because we had to answer a big questionnaire on our operations for example.”
“A big job”
For its part, Blackcircles.ca, a 100% online company from Longueuil specializing in tires, won a Grand Mention.
Its CEO Martin Gendron mentions that this award is an honor, as the company worked hard to be admitted to the Prix performance Québec and receive an award.
“The process [pour être aux Prix performance Québec]it’s a big job, he explains. You must have documentation and complete a questionnaire of several points, such as on our operations. There is a score on what we do well and areas to improve. It’s not a competition. We don’t just have to register.”
“With this award, our company is recognized by the government and it shows that we are a real company,” he adds. As we are 100% online, there are people who didn’t know if we were a real company.”
Yourbarfactory
The Châteauguay company Yourbarfactory, for its part, received a Mention highlighting the quality of its management and its overall performance. It specializes in the creation and manufacturing of nutritional bars.
“It’s a source of great pride for our team and it will give us good challenges,” says CEO Martin Joyal. It is a prestigious award since there are only eight companies in Quebec that have won an award at the Prix performance Québec. This award will propel us into the future.”
The PPQ constitute “the highest distinction awarded annually by the Government of Quebec to private companies and public organizations that apply best management practices,” informs the Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy.
