The RD813 derby is postponed. This championship match Federal 2 which was to oppose Castanet-Tolosan to Villefranche-de-Lauragais, Sunday November 17 at Lautard stadiumhas already been rescheduled for Sunday March 16, 2025. And it is not the weather or the state of the lawn of the Castanean enclosure which is in question, as is generally the case when such an announcement occurs at this time of year.
If this match between two of the standard bearers of Lauragais rugby had to be canceled, it is because of electrical work in progress on the sports complex facilities. A project which follows a fire which took place a little over a month ago now.
No access to changing rooms
The town hall of Castanet-Toulosan specifies that the disaster of Sunday October 13 destroyed the electrical panel of the rugby complexwhich had an impact on the lighting of the grounds, which is managed by Syndicat Départemental d’Energie de la Haute-Garonne, but also on the installations used by Avenir Castanéen and managed by the town hall such as the club-house and the changing rooms.
After trying to maintain its activities in complex conditions, to say the least, the club had to face the closure of its facilities. “ The electricity was cut by Enedis for safety reasons and to allow the necessary repairs,” specifies the community which therefore ended up prohibit access to changing rooms. “The power cut renders the fire alarm inactive,” justifies the town hall, while calling on users of the premises to respect this ban “for safety reasons.”
Work planned for next week
At the beginning of November, repair work on the electrical installation was launched by the town hall, in conjunction with the Departmental Energy Union of Haute-Garonne. “During the week of November 4 to 8, the service provider Spie manufactured a new electrical box in the factory. On-site cabling work is scheduled for the week of November 18-22», Specifies the municipality.
Once this project is completed,a control office will have to come and check the installationsin order to be able to draw up the certificate of conformity. “A mandatory document”, specifies the community, to allow Enedis to restore electricity to the Lautard complex.
