Murder of Lola: Dahbia B., accused of having killed the teenager, will be tried at the assizes

A trial was ordered by an investigating judge against the main suspect in the girl's murder, Dahbia B

Dahbia B, the main suspect for the assassination of Lola in October 2022 will be tried for “murder of a minor under 15 years old accompanied or preceded by rape, torture or acts of barbarity, to the detriment of the young Lola as well as for rape committed against a minor with torture or barbaric act”, confirmed the prosecutor's office (Île-de-) to Agence France-presse (AFP).

Tortured and raped

This assize trial was ordered this Friday, November 15, 2024 by an investigating judge. “We hope that the debates necessary for judicial truth will take place calmly, far from the media agitation and the nonsense of social networks”reacted to AFP Mes Alexandre Silva and Lucile Bertier, lawyers for Dahbia B, who risks life imprisonment for the murder of Lola, whose body was discovered in a plastic box in the interior courtyard of a building in the capital where she lived with her family, in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. The investigations quickly led to Dahbia B; spotted on the building's video surveillance images. She was arrested the next morning in Hauts-de-Seine.

An autopsy revealed that the girl had been tortured before being raped and then asphyxiated. A news item which caused great excitement across France, especially since the suspect, born in 1998 and of Algerian nationality, had been subject to an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF) for two months before the facts.

The victim's mother and brother are “still waiting for answers”, they indicated on the France Bleu set, Tuesday November 12. “Why my Lola? Why did she do that?” asked Delphine, the mother of the missing girl.
