Giovani dos Santos dazzled fans and critics alike when he emerged from La Masia, with many hailing him as the next Messi. However, after a brief spell at FC Barcelona, as well as stints in the Premier League, Spain and MLS, his career faded, culminating in a lackluster end at Club América.
Little was known about the player since his retirement in 2021, until now, when it was revealed that he had become a billionaire in the oil industry, with earnings reaching almost $500,000 per year.
The former footballer invested his money in Procura México, a company linked to the petrochemical sector of Petróleos Mexicanos, as reported by the “Claro Sport” portal.
According to the publication, Dos Santos’ profits are said to be around 10 million Mexican pesos, which is equivalent to around $500,000. Additionally, he reportedly owns a high-end car trading business.
