Our clubs maintain their form with friendly matches during the break. Club Brugge won 2-0 against Charleroi.
Return to the Club Brugge training center for Rik De Mil. The former Blauw en Zwart coach was in Venice of the North with the Zebras for a training gallop.
Both teams were without a few internationals and thus took advantage of the opportunity to rotate their core. Even more particularly on the Zebras side, the eleven lined up in the second half was significantly different from that at kick-off.
The visitors started better, with a first big opportunity for Nikola Stulicvery quick to intercept a bad pass from the Bruges defense, less to make it happen. Daan Heymans then inherited another opportunity before the end of the first quarter of an hour.
Bruges more concrete in the second half
The Club woke up with a few situations, but the same problems in the final third of the field. 0-0 at rest: as in the championship, Charleroi is doing more than well. But unlike the championship match between the two teams (which ended with a score of 1-1), it was Bruges who ended up opening the scoring.
After a series of chances, the Blauw en Zwart found the fault via Casper Nielsenwell found at the far post (65th, 1-0). Charleroi continued to be dangerous, with a great opportunity for Yacine Titraoui in the opposing rectangle. But Bruges made the break approaching the last quarter of an hour by Shandre Campbell, following a cross from Ferran Jutgla which seemed too long (2-0).
The match is therefore encouraging for Charleroi, even if the finishing problem remains very present. The Zebras will resume with a tricky trip to Genk, the Club will host Sint-Truiden.
